Justice Conference

Makeda Dread Cheetom w/ Leslie at the
Hillcrest Farmers' Market, 2009. Makeda in the 70's
founded the Prophet Restaurant in San Diego that was
world renown. In 1980, we had a Spring Equinox Celebration
at the Al Bahr Auditorium that drew 600. WIlliam Aura,
who produced the music was waiting for me to get there.
I stopped to get something to eat at The Prophet on
the way there. Makeda has a touch for food prep
that is amazing. She loves people through the food
she prepares. Now a days, she teaches others to cook
as well at the World Beat Center in Balboa Park, Site
of the Multi-culural Earth Day April 18, concurrent
with the San Diego Earth Fair. The event at the
World Beat Center runs a few hours after the
Earth Fair closes down the street.
